Ashore, you’ll find a mix of fascinating cities (like Quebec City and New York City) and spectacular scenery. Bike about Toronto, hike Canada’s La Mauricie National Park, kayak or bird-watch in Charleston. And who knew there were more than 300 resident Atlantic bottlenose dolphins in the inlets, creeks and marsh flats around Charleston? What better way to cruise in the U.S. than to celebrate July 4th in Boston, sailing 2,691-passenger Cunard flagship Queen Mary 2 round trip New York? How fitting to walk the historic Freedom Trail and tour the Boston Tea Party ship on this holiday. Queen Mary 2, widely hailed for its transatlantic crossings, is a wonderful ship to call home.

I Spent 7 Days on My First Adults-Only Virgin Voyages Cruise

Go big on bold when you sail aboard the three largest cruise ships in the world. Deck-defying attractions aren’t the only things to look forward to when you sail onboard the newest cruise ships addition to the Oasis Class. Keep in mind that this list of biggest cruise ships in the world changes annually as cruise lines regularly updating their fleets. Carnival Cruise Line’s newest ship Carnival Celebration launched in 2022 as the second member of the Excel class, joining her sister Mardi Gras. The new ship almost made the top 10 of the largest cruise ships, landing at number 11. Symphony of the Seas is the fourth Oasis-class and 25th cruise ship from Royal Caribbean.

Kids age 2 to 11 will have the opportunity to try NASA-inspired activities tailored to their age group. Celebration pays homage to her homeport of Miami with the 820 Biscayne zone, named after the cruise line’s first headquarters. The zone will feature the Deco Deli and 820 Bar, serving up Cuban sandwiches and tropical drinks. The Grand Central Atrium reinvented the central area of the ship, with a larger space featuring bars, cafés, and shops with aerial performances overhead. It is fully possible to cruise on Icon without spending anything extra on food.

Wonder of the Seas (Royal Caribbean)

Royal Princess' sailing along the California coast is one of the best U.S. cruises. The Bolt roller coaster aboard sister-ship Mardi Gras is one of the line's biggest hits, and Carnival Celebration will also feature Bolt, the line's popular roller coaster at sea. Carnival's new neighborhood concept will also be continued aboard Carnival Celebration, although word is that it will be different from the French Quarter aboard Mardi Gras. The most awarded ship in the world is stealing the spotlight again for entertainment, dining, family activities and more, it’s filled with endless ways to make every moment incredible. Introducing Utopia of the Seas℠ — the ship that’s totally transforming weekends for good. This is the World’s Biggest Weekend — arriving in summer 2024 to Port Canaveral.

The LNG-powered cruise ship is the flagship of the fleet and was constructed at the Meyer Turku shipyard in Finland. She’s almost identical to the Costa Smeralda, including gross tonnage and size. The only reason she is lower than her sister ship in the largest cruise ships in the world is that she entered service in 2021. In 2019, The Royal Caribbean cruise ship underwent a massive $165 million upgrade, which did not just add new water slides, but also The Ultimate Abyss aft slide, new dining venues, and a refreshed look. The amplification increased the ship’s gross tonnage, and she now overtakes sister ship Allure of the Seas in the list of the world’s top 10 largest cruise ships.

As if launching MSC Seascape in 2022 wasn’t enough, MSC Cruises is dreaming even bigger with an all-new class of ship. MSC World Europa will carry 5,079 passengers (at full occupancy) and will boast 22 decks, immediately becoming the longest, tallest and largest ship in the entire fleet. The ship launches in December 2022 and is earmarked to sail in the Arabian Gulf.

Since the start, it's been our aim to provide the latest cruise news covering all the major cruise lines. We make sure cruisers are fully prepared for their cruise vacation with tips on ships and ports.Millions of travelers rely on Cruise Hive in the United States, Europe, Australia, and around the world. The vessel is slightly larger than its sister ship Iona and was constructed at the popular Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg, Germany. She is currently the largest in the P&O fleet and is the largest ever constructed vessel purposely for the British market.

Carnival Jubilee will have a giant water park on its top deck and, like its sister, a far broader array of suites than earlier Carnival ships. Originally scheduled to debut in 2022 but delayed by nearly a year, the 2,770-passenger ship will be a nearly identical sister to the two earlier vessels, which began sailing in 2021 and 2022, respectively. Perhaps the most notable new cruise ship of 2023 will be MSC World Europa, the first of a new series of megaships from MSC Cruises that is designed to go head-to-head with Royal Caribbean's giant Oasis-class ships. Cruise Hive was established back in 2008 and among the earliest blogs in the industry.

The upcoming Norwegian Viva will be the sister ship to Norwegian Prima, and Norwegian Cruise Line has said that you can expect nearly identical experiences on both ships. MSC Euribia is the third of MSC Cruises’ Meraviglia Plus class, following MSC Grandiose and MSC Virtuosa. The beautiful (and big!) ship is not just filled with gorgeous spots to take in the views, inside and out, but also is an example of how cruising can be at least a little more eco-friendly. Just like all four of the Virgin Voyages ships, Resilient Lady will offer the adults-only environment infused with fitness, music and party-esque amenities that the cruise line is known for.

Smart energy efforts have also been applied to the ship’s waste elimination, climate control and ventilation. Eight ships with a gross tonnage of more than 100,000 each are set to debut this year, according to a consolidated order book by Cruise Industry News. These ships are so massive that they dwarf the Titanic — which was once the largest ship in the world — several times over. Join us as we take a special first look at Icon of the Seas, the World’s next biggest cruise ship.

You’ll find that this new ship is a big step up from its predecessor, though, with lots to do and family fun everywhere you look. The ship is built in China and is designed with 16 floors and plans to incorporate Chinese  restaurants and entertainment, per Shine. The LNG powered Costa Toscana was built in 2022 and is one of the line’s Excellence Class ships.
